AVC/H.264

Pursuant to Section 1.13 of the AVC Patent Portfolio License, “AVC Standard” shall mean the video standard defined in:

  • I. ISO/IEC 14496-10:2008, 4th Edition (2008-09-15) for all profiles specified therein,
  • II. only the portions of Annex H of ISO/IEC 14496-10:2010, 6th Ed., Dec. 15, 2010 (and the parts of: (a) clauses 2-9, and (b) Annexes A, B, C, D, and E of ISO/IEC 14496-10:2010, 6th Ed., Dec. 15, 2010 referenced by such portions of Annex H) describing:
    • (i) Multiview High Profile signals containing only a single view,
    • (ii) Stereo High Profile signals containing only a single view,
    • (iii) decoding Multiview High Profile signals containing only a single view, and
    • (iv) decoding Stereo High Profile signals containing only a single view.
  • III. ISO/IEC 14496-10:2014, 8th Edition (2014-09-01) for all profiles specified in: (a) Clauses 0-9, and (b) Annexes A, B, C, D, E, F, and G, thereof,
  • IV. Recommendation ITU-T H.264, 12.0 Edition (2017-04-13) for all profiles specified in: (a) Clauses 0-9, and (b) Annexes A, B, C, D, E, F, and G, thereof,

For avoidance of doubt, this definition of “AVC Standard” in paragraphs I, II, III, IV, V, and VI is intended to include the encoding and decoding of signals with only a single view, which are a subset of the (a) Multiview High Profile, (b) Stereo High Profile, (c) MFC High Profile, (d) Multiview Depth High Profile, (e) MFC Depth High Profile, and (f) Enhanced Multiview Depth High Profile, and to exclude the encoding and decoding of signals with multiple views, which are a subset of the (a) Multiview High Profile, (b) Stereo High Profile, (c) MFC High Profile, (d) Multiview Depth High Profile, (e) MFC Depth High Profile, and (f) Enhanced Multiview Depth High Profile.
